This time around, I’m going to be posting on Summer Organizing!

Believe it or not, I’m not really a naturally organized person. I love to have things organized around me, but it does take a considerable amount of effort on my part to keep it that way. So, a couple of times each year, I find myself cleaning out, purging, and re-organizing different areas of my home.

And the beginning of summer is the best time for me!

I got into that groove following the end of our first year of actual, scheduled homeschooling. We wrapped up our 180 days just before Memorial Day and I spent the next couple of weeks just tearing the house apart and putting it back together again. The rest of the summer was so lovely for me and when we came home from summer vacation, it was thrilling to walk back into my newly organized space!

Although things have changed for us a bit with regards to our school schedule {we have made the transition to year-round schooling,} I still planned on using these early summer days to take a break from school and get the house in order.

For these next few days, I’m going to be sharing with all of you some of the projects that I’ve been working on… some of the most helpful ideas that I’ve found online… and hopefully provide a little inspiration to get busy gettin’ organized so you can sit back and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Some of the areas that I’ve organized over the past couple of weeks and that I’ll be sharing with y’all are:

~The In & Out All Day, All Summer Door
Yep… that door that you hear squeak, creak, slam, or spring open & shut all day because of those beautifully rambunctious kids enjoying the outdoors and making sure to come back in to tell you all about it. Setting them up a spot to keep key items can be helpful in keeping them occupied!

~The Closets That Get Let Go
You know the ones… the bathroom closet… the hall closet… the linen closet… The ones that get used & abused all. winter. long. and begin to give you minor anxiety attacks come spring time.

~The Taxi Cab
From the pool, to the library, to the grocery store, to the friends’ houses… sometimes our cars become even more taxi cab-like during the summer! We really can do a few things to keep it working for us.

~The Pool Accessories & Necessities
There’s no doubting the awesomeness of the pool… Endless enjoyment for the whole family that literally wears them down into sleepy zombies! Ahhh the bliss of after-pool naps… BUT, we don’t wanna be runnin’ around haphazardly trying to collect all the floaties, sunscreen bottles, and goggles as we’re ready to head out the door, majorly cutting into our water time! After years of being pool junkies, I’ve learned a couple of things that help make getting out the door to the pool a breeze.

I’m really looking forward to not only getting to share some fun stuff that I like to get organized during the summer, but also hearing from you some of your best tips for summer organization!

In the meantime, be sure to visit some of the other great blogs in this Series…

Grace & Peace~
